Taking A Long Hot Bath Is The Newest Method To Lose Weight

I don’t know about you, but this is one study that I can definitely get behind.  It seems that by lying in a long hot bath, you can burn as many calories as a thirty-minute walk.  Say what?

In a study conducted in 2017 by a Dr. Faulkner, researchers looked at fourteen different lean males, who either engaged in sixty minutes of cycling or on the other hand bathed in 104-degree water.  Both activities required the body to burn more calories, however, it was learned that those who bath were observed to burn up to 79% more calories than if they were simply couch potatoes.

Biking is still your best bet for losing calories, as a sixty-minute session will burn up to 750% more calories than when you are at rest.  However, a long hot bath is a more viable option for those individuals who have difficulty keeping to a daily exercise routine due to fatigue, stress, and muscle pain.

There are other health benefits proven to be associated with hot baths.  Studies have shown that hot baths, when taken one hour meal times, can help to prevent blood sugar spikes more effectively than exercise could.  Although the effects did not last throughout the day, once a day was found very beneficial.

Studies have also shown that hot baths can lessen the risk of various heart issues, such as sudden cardiac death, fatal coronary heart disease, cardiovascular disease, and all-cause mortality.  Some studies have also suggested that hot baths may, in fact, reduce the risk of fatal heart disease.
