Royal Caribbean Opens CocoCay on Private Island

Royal Caribbean is well-known around the world for being a top of the line cruise ship experience to the Caribbean. Each year, millions of people from across the globe board these cruise ships and sail off to explore exotic islands for a week or two.

Instead of simply docking the ship and allowing passengers to explore inhabited islands, Royal Caribbean can now send its passengers to CocoCay. Now, Royal Caribbean is adding its own island onto the cruise agenda. CocoCay is Royal Caribbean’s private island resort, which they recently updated with attractions to the tune of two hundred and fifty milion dollars.

CocoCay is being marketed as part of Royal Caribbean’s  “Perfect Day Island Collection”  which are exclusive private destinations that its ships will travel to around the world. Currently,  Royal Caribbean cruises out of Florida and the Northeast, including 3, 4, 7, and 8-night itineraries are available for customers who wish to visit CocoCay.

This private island paradise includes thirteen completely different waterslides, including Devil’s Peak which has a 135 foot drop. There is a 2,600 foot infinity pool as well, including two man made lagoons, a wave pool, private beach cabanas with overwater hammocks and all which have slides directly into the ocean water, a swim up bar, and a variety of food options.

If that wasn’t enough, the island also features a hot air balloon ride experience, which lifts you four hundred and fifty feet into the air for a stunning panoramic view of the entire island as well as the crystal clear blue water.

The food options include Captain Jack’s for burgers, wings, and a seat at the full rowboat bar. Or try out Skipper’s Grill for salads, sandwiches, tacos, burgers, and much more. At Chill Grill, the island’s largest dining venue, meals are served beachside on colorful picnic tables for an added experience.
