Possible Daredevil Soft Reboot Set In MCU

Since Netflix canceled the Marvel comic book-based series Daredevil, fans have been rallying to get the show back.  Now, nearly three years since the cancellation, the cry to save the series is stronger than ever.  Fans even want the original actors who portrayed the beloved characters to become part of the current MCU.

With recent rumors of the Daredevil character Wilton Fisk, portrayed by Vincent D’Onofrio appearing in the series Hawkeye, and Matt Murdock, portrayed by Charlie Cox appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home growing more and more in strength, a new rumor has made its appearance on the scene.

The rumor states that Marvel Studios is seriously considering producing a Daredevil solo project.  The project would serve as a soft reboot of the Netflix series, with the added feature that the actors from the original series would once again star.

Although the reboot would use the same actors and characters, they would have different histories than those presented in the Netflix series and have nothing canon.  Unsure at this time is whether the studio would make the reboot a series for Disney+ or a theatrical film.

Fans may also get to see other characters from the Netflix originally developed universe, potentially including characters such as Krysten Ritter returning as Jessica Jones. Essential to keep in mind is that at that point in time, these are all merely rumors—especially those of D’Onofrio appearing in Hawkeye and Charlie Cox appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Cox, in specific, continues to deny any connection to the upcoming Spider-Man film and states he “genuinely” has no idea what will be happening with the Daredevil character:

“My answer is, ‘No comment.’  I don’t know what’s going to happen. I genuinely don’t know. “

Cox went on to say:

“Also, if there was a chance of that happening in the future, I don’t want to say something that could potentially jeopardize those chances because the people high up at Marvel, maybe they see this stuff or hear what I say and maybe that influences.”
