For some time now, fans have known that Nathan Fillion was in some way connected to the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel. There have what could be considered a plethora of rumors and speculations, but nothing really concrete. However, now we do have a tease as to his possible involvement.
In recent set photos, originating on Just Jared, it appears that Fillion is clad, from beautiful head to fantastic toe in a green suit, that seems to be made from leather. It is still very unclear at this time as to what role Fillion is indeed portraying, but from the photos so far, DC fans are split into two camps of opinion.
The one camp is sticking to their guns and going with the earlier report that Fillion will be portraying the character of Arms-Fall-Off-Boy. They claim their theory is supported by the crossed arm emblem on Fillion costume, as well as his over-exposed arms, in what appears to be an effort to get the point across.
The other camp is taking its theories in the opposite direction. They are claiming that Fillion is portraying the character of Blackguard, rooting their argument in the fact that Fillion is shown wearing a helmet, as well as the green color of his uniform.
Whichever it may be, here are those fans that are somewhat concerned for the sequel, as the original was a bomb—both at the box office and with critics alike. However, producer Peter Safran assures the fans and critics alike that the sequel will be a “total reboot.”
Jame Gunn, the scriptwriter, confirmed the members of the cast recently, which in addition to Fillion include, Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, as well as newcomers Idris Elba, Michael Rooker, and Peter Capaldi to name a few.
DC is ending the year strong with the Joker, whose box office has the studio laughing all the way to the bank, and has plans to hit the ground running in the coming years, with their upcoming releases Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman, The Batman, Aquaman 2 and, of course, The Suicide Squad.
