Halo Top is a high protein and low calorie ice cream which has become immensely popular since it’s first release back in 2012. Earlier this year, the ice cream brand introduced a line of popsicles based on its more popular flavors, ad they have been flying off the shelves.
Now, Halo Top is teaming up with fast food sandwich shop Subway to create an exclusively Halo Top milkshake for customers. Both companies are rather health comscious, and Subway has been lacking in the desserts department. The shakes are being tested from July 22 through September 4 in certain Subway locations across the country.
These Halo Top milkshakes will be available at Subway locations like Colorado Springs, CO; Hartford, CT; Longview and Tyler, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Toledo, OH; and West Palm Beach, FL. All in all, nearly 1,000 Subway locations will have access to this exclusive milkshake.
Only three Halo Top milkshakes will be available at Subway. These flavors are vanilla bean, chocolate and strawberry and they have 350 calories or less and 20 grams of protein. The milkshakes are a good pairing for a six-inch sub as well.
According to Halo Top’s President & COO, Doug Bouton, “We enjoy finding creative and innovative ways for people to eat more ice cream (and feel good about it), and we think this partnership provides the perfect platform to do just that.”
In a press release, Subway’s Chief Brand and Innovation Officer, Len Van Popering, said, “The collaboration came about after the two companies realized their shared values of creating “better-for-you options.”
There is no listed retail price for the limited time test milkshake, and no information on whether or not more of the diverse flavors will become available at Subway. Depending on how well these Halo Top milkshakes go over with the public, the milkshakes could expand to other parts of the United States.
