“Game of Thrones” Inspired Oreos Have Arrived

Brace yourselves, “Game of Thrones” inspired Oreo cookies are coming. Just six weeks before the next season of the insanely popular fantasy medieval television drama “Game of Thrones” is set to air on HBO, the series is getting some awesome marketing help from America’s favorite black and white cookie.

The new Oreos have been popping up on social media websites and their existence has been confirmed by marketing executives. The limited time Nabisco cookies feature all black packaging to fit in more with the series theme. The Oreo logo is even styled in the same font as the opening credits of the show.

The names of all of the Westeros families is printed across the front and back of the packaging as well. Customers can see the names of Targaryen, White Walker, Lannister, Stark and more. The new and final season of the beloved show will arrive on HBO on April 14, so these limited edition cookies will be available on grocery store shelves at least until then.

The Nabisco Oreos will be available in the regular size, and will be the regular flavor as well. Recently, Oreo has released new flavors of creme filling, but these “Game of Thrones” Oreos will be the regular black cookies on either side of the white creme filling.

Oreo even released a video teaser for the cookies, including creating a hashtag that says #ForTheThrone and text that reads “cookies are coming,” based on the iconic line of winter is coming from the series.

A caption for the photo of the cookies on Instagram says  “Game of Thrones Oreos will be out sometime before the debut of the final season on April 14. I really want to see these built up in the opening sequence. Winterfell, King’s Landing, Oreo package, the Wall… Or maybe Daenerys munching on some Oreos while riding Drogon.”
