Zombie Skittles–Talk About Scary!

Although this newest addition to the Skittles candy line won’t be available until Fall 2019, we figured you might still want to get prepared for the newest sensation.  The packs will reportedly contain five fruity flavors–however, there will be a bit of a twist.

According to a press release from the Skittles company:

“….should you dare to open this treat, you will find HIDDEN Rotten Zombie flavors mixed into each pack.”

Okay.  One can only wonder if the promised rotten zombie flavors will be as bad as, or worse than, those totally gag-worthy jelly beans of Harry Potter fame.  I for one don’t think I will be so bold as to just start chugging down a bag of Skittles, in fear of coming upon one of the promised rotten zombies flavors—ewww!

The fruity flavors are said to include Petrifying Citrus Punch, Mummified Melon, Boogeyman Blackberry, Chiling Black Cherry and Blood Red Berry.  They will be available in the standard $1.89 share size, the popular $2.49 lay down bag, and the $2.99 fun size bag for all those spooky trick or treaters out there.

Can you imagine a trick or treater, not really knowing what they have, tearing into a fun-size pack, and suddenly running across the taste of the rotten zombie inside?  One has to wonder what parents will think when they see the resulting reaction on the child’s face.

There will be another flavor available, in addition to the Zombie Skittles in 2019.  The popular Skittles Darkside flavor will be making a return, boasting:

“…a delicious mix of mysterious, dark fruit flavors inspired by the other side of the rainbow.”

Flavors will include a mix of Dark Berry, Black Cherry, Forbidden Fruit, Blood Orange, and Midnight Lime.”

We will have to wait until this time next year for these spooky delights, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be getting our taste buds ready ahead of time—to taste the sensation.
